Guam’s Facebook Account: Happy Liberation, Guam!

July 20, 2011

(contrary to traditional Facebook feeds, this reads top to bottom)

Note: A lot of this information came by way of Wikipedia and Guampedia (although any errors are probably my fault). I didn’t know many details about these events until I did this post.

All jokes aside, everyone knows that Guam was liberated from Japan by the United States. If that’s all you know about it, I suggest you sit down and have a talk with any of Guam’s man’amko who were around during these events. I’m sure they’ll be glad to let you know exactly what happened, when it happened, and where it happened. At the very least, you should visit Guampedia.

Thanks to everyone for their part in making sure that we get to appreciate Guam today. Now, do you think I can buy a computer off-base for less than $600? Let’s get to work on that. Happy Liberation Day (a day early)!
